Duchamp from his readymades used everyday apparatuses and positioned them in distant settings that obscured the mind along with the rise in curiosity. This along with his cubist paintings which show motion in a static canvas offered us abstract ideas that challenge our minds as well as the unbounded boundaries and potentials of art by altering the perspective. This exaggerated approach allows us to simply associate how obscene and enigmatic our lives are and how through the normalization most do not see or are afraid to step out of the box. For this week I played around with something we encounter every day which is
reflection. With this, I tried to intertwine the reflections and its non-reflected environment to challenge the viewers as well as to showcase the obscure perspectives we see as norms and the mirrored reality of ourselves are just mere reflections of the normalized society we live in.
